6K 3D Odyssey G9 and Odyssey 3D Experience

The most talked-about announcement is the 6K 3D Odyssey G9. Samsung claims this display delivers a true 6K resolution combined with glasses-free 3D viewing, removing one of the biggest barriers to mainstream 3D adoption. By using advanced eye-tracking and light-field display technology, the monitor can present depth-based visuals without additional accessories. This approach is expected to benefit gaming, simulation, and immersive media experiences.

Closely related is the Odyssey 3D model, which represents a refined version of Samsung’s earlier experiments in three-dimensional displays. Using Dual Mode, the refresh rate can be boosted up to 330Hz at a lower resolution, allowing users to prioritize either visual detail or ultra-smooth motion. Samsung also states that the monitor can convert standard two-dimensional content into a three-dimensional format, adding depth to existing videos and games.

Odyssey G6 Focused on Extreme Refresh Rates

For competitive gaming enthusiasts, the Odyssey G6 stands out due to its focus on speed. The 27-inch display reportedly supports refresh rates of up to 1,040Hz using Dual Mode, which is far beyond current mainstream gaming monitors. At its native QHD resolution, the refresh rate can reach up to 600Hz, making it suitable for esports players who value responsiveness above all else. Samsung also emphasizes that the Odyssey G6 supports both AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-Sync, technologies designed to reduce screen tearing and provide smoother gameplay.

The 32-inch Odyssey G8, identified as the G80HS, is capable of delivering a 6K resolution at a 165Hz refresh rate. Similar to the Odyssey 3D, it can switch to a 3K resolution with refresh rates reaching 330Hz through Dual Mode. This flexibility makes it suitable for both high-resolution creative work and fast-paced gaming sessions.

Another addition is the 27-inch Odyssey G8 G80HF, which offers a 5K resolution with native support up to 180Hz. With Dual Mode enabled, the monitor can reach 360Hz in QHD resolution, balancing sharp image quality with high frame rates. This model targets users who want a compact display without sacrificing performance.
