ElectricSUV – Tata Motors has begun laying the groundwork for an updated version of its Punch EV, with the refreshed electric micro SUV expected to reach Indian showrooms toward the end of February 2026. This development follows the recent update of the petrol-powered Punch, signaling that the company is aligning both powertrain options under a unified, modernized design and feature strategy.

The Punch EV facelift is likely to borrow several cues from the newly revised internal combustion model, while retaining design elements that distinguish it as an electric vehicle. Although official specifications have not yet been released, early indications suggest that the update will focus on styling refinements, cabin upgrades, and feature enhancements rather than mechanical overhauls.

Exterior Updates Inspired by the ICE Version

On the outside, the refreshed Punch EV is expected to adopt a sharper and more contemporary appearance. The front fascia may receive a redesigned look featuring EV-specific touches, such as a closed-off grille that enhances aerodynamic efficiency. Connected LED daytime running lights are also likely, lending the vehicle a more premium and modern road presence.

Both front and rear bumpers could be reworked to complement the updated design language, while subtle detailing changes may further differentiate the facelift from the current model. Along the sides, new alloy wheel designs are expected, adding to the visual freshness without altering the compact proportions that have defined the Punch range.

Interior Enhancements and Technology Upgrades

Inside the cabin, the facelift is anticipated to bring noticeable improvements aimed at enhancing comfort and in-car technology. One of the most significant expected updates is a larger, free-standing infotainment touchscreen measuring up to 12.3 inches. This display would represent a substantial step up from the current setup and align the Punch EV with newer offerings in the segment.

In terms of powertrain, the Punch EV facelift is expected to continue with the existing battery configurations. The current model is available with a 25 kWh battery pack delivering a claimed range of 265 km, along with a larger 35 kWh battery offering up to 365 km on a single charge. These options have been well received for urban usage and occasional highway travel.

While no confirmation has been provided regarding performance upgrades, there is speculation that Tata Motors could fine-tune efficiency or introduce minor feature-based enhancements, similar to the approach taken with the updated ICE variant. However, major changes to the electric drivetrain are not anticipated at this stage.

Pricing Could See a Moderate Increase

With the addition of new features and updated styling, the Punch EV facelift is expected to carry a higher price tag than the current version. At present, the electric Punch starts at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as one of the more accessible electric SUVs in the Indian market.

Any price revision is likely to be gradual, ensuring the model remains competitive within its segment. Tata Motors currently offers the Punch lineup with petrol and CNG options alongside the electric variant, giving buyers flexibility across fuel types while maintaining a consistent design identity.
