A Contemporary Take on Ferrari’s Design Heritage

Crafted under the direction of Ferrari’s design chief Flavio Manzoni, the Amalfi reflects the brand’s evolving design philosophy. While it carries forward the graceful proportions seen in its predecessor, the car introduces sharper detailing and modern aerodynamic elements.

At the front, a body-coloured floating wing replaces the traditional grille, giving the fascia a cleaner and more sculpted appearance. The slim headlamps are neatly integrated with sensors, maintaining both functionality and visual balance. A pronounced lower splitter further accentuates the car’s width and sporty stance.

The rear section maintains a minimalist approach. A strong shoulder line flows seamlessly into a compact tail, where concealed tail lamps reference classic Ferrari styling cues. The broad diffuser underlines the focus on aerodynamic efficiency, while the rear glass transitions smoothly into the integrated spoiler, shaping a distinctive silhouette. The launch shade, Verde Costiera, draws inspiration from the hues of Italy’s coastal landscapes, reinforcing the car’s Mediterranean identity.

Interior Overhaul with Advanced Technology

Inside the cabin, Ferrari has introduced a completely reworked dashboard layout, departing from the Roma’s earlier design. The interior now follows a more sculptural and integrated theme inspired by Ferrari’s 12-cylinder grand tourers. The instrument cluster and air vents are combined within a single, monolithic structure that dominates the dashboard.

The centre console, finished in anodised aluminium, appears to float between the seats. It houses essential controls including the gear selector, key slot, wireless charging pad, and other functional switches. The door handles adopt a sail-inspired design that complements the dual-cockpit layout, visually separating the driver and passenger spaces.

For added comfort, buyers can opt for specially designed seats available in three sizes. These seats offer ventilation and massage functions, with five programs and three intensity settings. Audiophiles can also choose a 14-speaker Burmester audio system delivering 1,200 watts of output, enhancing the in-cabin experience.

Engine Performance and Driving Dynamics

Powering the Amalfi is a revised twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 631 horsepower. The engine is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, engineered for rapid and seamless gear changes. Performance figures underline the car’s capabilities, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h achieved in 3.3 seconds, and 0 to 200 km/h in approximately nine seconds.

The model boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 2.29 kilograms per horsepower, contributing to its sharp responsiveness. Ferrari has also equipped the Amalfi with a new brake-by-wire system known as ABS Evo, aimed at improving braking precision and stability under varying driving conditions.

To enhance practicality, the vehicle can be fitted with a front lifter system. Operational at speeds of up to 35 km/h, the system raises the front axle by as much as 40 mm, allowing the car to clear speed bumps and uneven surfaces more comfortably.

India Market Positioning

With its combination of refined styling, advanced cabin technology, and strong performance credentials, the Amalfi is expected to strengthen Ferrari’s presence in India’s luxury sports car segment. As the successor to the Roma, it represents the brand’s continued effort to balance tradition with modern innovation while catering to discerning buyers seeking exclusivity and dynamic performance.
