Motorcycling – TVS Motor Company has deepened its engagement with Rann Utsav for the second consecutive year, presenting the white salt desert of the Rann of Kutch as a leading destination for rider-driven travel experiences. The initiative reflects the company’s growing focus on blending motorcycling culture with India’s diverse landscapes and heritage sites.

Community Rides Across the Salt Desert

More than 100 riders gathered at the Rann this season, including participants from Italy and Mexico, to take part in curated rides and performance showcases. The convoy explored the expansive salt flats and the popular stretch known as the “Road to Heaven,” offering participants a rare opportunity to navigate desert terrain on two wheels.

The event also marked the inaugural West Chapter ride of the TVS Apache Owners Group and the TVS Ronin CuLT community. Riders travelled from cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Jaipur and Ahmedabad, covering highways, countryside routes and desert paths before converging at the festival site. Organisers said the long-distance journey underscored the appeal of the Rann as a destination best discovered through motorcycle travel.

Sudarshan Venu, Chairman of TVS Motor Company, noted that such initiatives align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s broader vision of promoting India’s tourism potential globally. He said showcasing unique destinations through experiential travel can help place them prominently on the international map.

Premium Arena Highlights Racing Heritage

At the heart of the festival grounds, the TVS Premium Arena served as a focal point for visitors and riders. The zone brought together the company’s racing machines, its performance-focused Apache range, and the lifestyle-oriented Ronin lineup, along with accessories and branded merchandise.

Several live demonstrations and training sessions were held throughout the event. These included Apache Pro Performance stunt displays, Ronin Drift-R flat track training modules, and freestyle motocross showcases by TVS Racing athletes. Adventure enthusiasts also participated in Apache RTX training sessions, while a dedicated Women’s Drift-R Championship highlighted efforts to encourage wider participation in motorsport.

Custom Motorcycles Inspired by Kutch

One of the major attractions was the unveiling of the TVS Rann Utsav Custom Series. The collection featured five specially crafted motorcycles designed to reflect the character of Kutch’s landscape and culture.

Four models — the TVS Ronin, TVS Apache RTR 200, TVS Apache RTR 310 and TVS Apache RR 310 — were redesigned under the theme “The Rann of Kutch Edition, A Symphony of Salt and Sky.” Developed in collaboration with Eimor Customs, these motorcycles carried hand-painted artwork inspired by the stark white salt plains and the dramatic hues of the desert sky. Each unit featured laser-cut stainless steel badges to signify its limited-edition status.

The fifth motorcycle, a specially modified Ronin themed “Unscripted Exploration,” was built with practical upgrades for extended travel. It included dual-purpose tyres suited for mixed terrain, a reworked front mudguard, and a reinforced rear rack designed to carry modular luggage. Ajrak-inspired leather detailing paid tribute to local craftsmanship, while a paint gradient shifting from Sky Blue to Salt White mirrored the changing colours of dawn over the desert.

Strengthening Partnership with Gujarat Tourism

By returning to the Rann for a second year, TVS Motor signalled its intention to create a sustained experiential platform in collaboration with Gujarat Tourism. Company officials said the effort is aimed at combining performance motorcycling, design innovation and cultural storytelling to project India’s natural landscapes to a wider audience.

Through its #ExploreTheUnexploredRann campaign, the company has invited riders from across India and abroad to look beyond the festival atmosphere and experience the Rann of Kutch as a distinctive motorcycling destination. The initiative positions the salt desert not only as a seasonal celebration venue but also as a setting for adventure travel that blends community, culture and performance.
