The updated model continues to be powered by the familiar 1.9-litre diesel engine. This unit produces 161 bhp and delivers 360 Nm of peak torque. Customers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic gearbox, depending on their preference.
A significant change for 2026 is the standardisation of the 4WD system across all variants. By eliminating the two-wheel-drive version, the manufacturer has positioned the V-Cross as a more focused off-road vehicle. In addition, every trim now benefits from an auto-locking differential, which is designed to improve traction on uneven surfaces and challenging terrain. Inside the cabin, the most noticeable upgrade is the introduction of a larger 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This replaces the earlier 9-inch unit and now supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The expanded screen size is aimed at improving ease of use and overall in-cabin experience.
The dashboard and door panels receive new contrast trim inserts, adding a more premium feel to the interior layout. In the higher-spec Z Prestige variant, the pickup is equipped with a roof-mounted eight-speaker sound system, enhancing audio quality for occupants.
Safety and convenience features have also been strengthened. The 2026 model now includes a 360-degree camera system, which assists drivers during parking and off-road manoeuvres. A tyre pressure monitoring system has been added as well, providing real-time information to help maintain optimal performance and safety.
