Sport-Focused: Bentley Adds GT S Models to Continental Lineup
Sport-Focused: Bentley has broadened its fourth-generation Continental GT family with the introduction of the new Continental GT S and Continental GTC S. These additions are designed to appeal to buyers looking for a sharper, more performance-oriented character without moving all the way to the flagship Speed variants. Positioned above the standard Continental GT and GTC, the new S models blend familiar power figures with more advanced chassis technology drawn from higher-end versions in the range.

A More Assertive Exterior Identity
Visually, the GT S and GTC S distinguish themselves with a noticeably sportier stance. Bentley has equipped both models with newly designed 22-inch alloy wheels, while several exterior accents adopt a darker, blacked-out finish to emphasize their dynamic positioning. The lighting units also feature a darker tint, a styling detail previously reserved for the Continental GT Speed. These subtle but deliberate changes give the S models a more aggressive road presence without straying from Bentley’s established design language.
Interior Details Focused on Sport and Style
Inside the cabin, the GT S range introduces exclusive two-tone color combinations that are not available on the standard models. These interior schemes are paired with piano black veneer as standard, reinforcing the sporty atmosphere. Buyers seeking a more technical aesthetic can opt for carbon fibre trim instead. Despite the emphasis on performance, the interior retains the craftsmanship, material quality, and comfort levels expected from a Continental GT.
Familiar Powertrain, No Increase in Output
Under the hood, Bentley has chosen not to alter the power output. Both the GT S and GTC S use the same high-performance hybrid setup found in the regular Continental GT. This system combines a twin-turbocharged V8 engine with electric assistance to deliver a total of 671 bhp and 930 Nm of torque. These figures match those of the standard GT and GTC, confirming that the focus of the S models lies elsewhere.
Advanced Chassis Technology Sets the GT S Apart
The most meaningful upgrades are found beneath the bodywork. Unlike the standard Continental GT, the S variants benefit from Bentley’s Performance Active Chassis technology, previously reserved for the GT Speed and GT Mulliner. This system includes active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring to each wheel, adaptive suspension paired with a 48-volt active roll control system, and an enhanced electronic stability control setup. In its most dynamic mode, the ESC allows a greater degree of wheel slip for a more engaging driving experience.
Expanded Dynamic Features and Sports Exhaust
In addition to the advanced chassis systems, the GT S models also retain features offered on the standard GT, such as rear-wheel steering, adaptive dampers, and an electronic limited-slip differential. These elements work together to improve agility and stability, particularly during high-speed driving. Bentley has also fitted a new sports exhaust, giving the GT S a more assertive sound that matches its performance-focused positioning.
Improved Acceleration Without Compromising Top Speed
The chassis enhancements translate into measurable gains on the road. The Continental GT S completes the 0–100 kmph sprint in 3.5 seconds, making it two-tenths of a second quicker than the standard GT. Despite the improved acceleration, the top speed remains unchanged at 305 kmph, ensuring the S models maintain the long-distance grand touring credentials of the Continental range.
Positioning Within Bentley’s Lineup
Within Bentley’s broader portfolio, the GT S and GTC S sit above the standard Continental GT and below the Speed models. They also serve as a more dynamic alternative to the Continental GT Azure, which prioritizes comfort and luxury. With these new variants, Bentley offers customers a clearer choice between refinement-focused and performance-oriented grand touring experiences.
