FoldableSmartphone – Vivo X Fold 6 Leak Points to Bigger Battery and Camera Enhancements

FoldableSmartphone – Vivo’s upcoming foldable smartphone, widely expected to arrive as the successor to the Vivo X Fold 5, has surfaced in a fresh leak that sheds light on its possible launch schedule and hardware upgrades. Although the company has not officially announced the device, information shared by a well-known Chinese source suggests that the new foldable model could bring significant improvements in battery life, imaging capabilities, and overall performance.

Expected Launch Window Revealed

According to details circulating from China, Vivo may introduce the Vivo X Fold 6 in its home market before the end of the month. The leaked information indicates that the device will continue the company’s established design language, featuring a large circular rear camera module. The display is also expected to adopt rounded corners, contributing to a more refined appearance.

Reports further suggest that a white-colored version is currently being used during the engineering and testing phase, indicating that it could be among the launch color options when the device becomes official.

MediaTek Chipset Could Mark a Major Change

One of the most notable details from the leak involves the processor. The Vivo X Fold 6 is said to be powered by MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 chipset. If accurate, this would represent a shift in strategy for Vivo’s foldable lineup.

Previous X Fold models have relied on Qualcomm hardware. The Vivo X Fold 5 was launched with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the earlier Vivo X Fold 3 featured the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform. The move to a flagship MediaTek chipset could signal Vivo’s intention to explore new performance and efficiency improvements in its premium foldable devices.

Larger Battery May Improve Endurance

Battery capacity appears to be another area receiving attention. The latest leak suggests that the Vivo X Fold 6 could include a battery exceeding 7,000mAh, a substantial increase compared to the 6,000mAh unit found in the current generation.

If the report proves accurate, users may benefit from longer usage times despite the power demands associated with large foldable displays. The Vivo X Fold 5 currently supports 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging, though details regarding charging speeds for the upcoming model remain unknown.

Camera System Expected to Receive Upgrades

Photography could also see a significant boost on the Vivo X Fold 6. The device is rumored to feature a new 200-megapixel rear camera sensor, potentially offering improved image detail and low-light performance.

In addition, the foldable handset is tipped to include a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, which may enhance zoom capabilities and provide better versatility for mobile photography enthusiasts. While Vivo has not confirmed these specifications, the reported camera setup suggests a strong focus on flagship-level imaging.

Looking Back at the Vivo X Fold 5

The Vivo X Fold 5 debuted in China in June last year with an 8.03-inch AMOLED inner display and a 6.53-inch AMOLED outer screen. Both panels support a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach peak brightness levels of up to 4,500 nits.

The device was offered with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Its rear camera system includes three 50-megapixel sensors covering primary, telephoto, and ultra-wide photography needs. For selfies and video calls, the foldable smartphone is equipped with dual 20-megapixel front-facing cameras.

The handset also carries IPX8, IPX9, and IP5X ratings, providing resistance against water and dust. With the Vivo X Fold 6 reportedly bringing upgrades across multiple areas, expectations are growing for Vivo’s next-generation foldable offering.
