SamsungGalaxyS26Ultra – Launch Nears With Major Display and Charging Upgrades
SamsungGalaxyS26Ultra – The spotlight is firmly on Samsung as fresh leaks indicate that the company is preparing to introduce its next premium device, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, at an Unpacked event expected later this month. With less than two weeks reportedly remaining, a combination of official hints and industry reports has outlined what consumers might expect in terms of display technology, camera refinements, battery capacity, charging speed, and India pricing.

Display Expected to Introduce Built-In Privacy Layer
Much of the early discussion has centered on the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s display. Samsung recently referenced a “new layer of privacy,” widely interpreted as a built-in privacy screen integrated directly into the OLED panel. Unlike conventional screen protectors that permanently restrict side viewing angles, this feature is expected to be optional and controlled through software settings.
Reports suggest the privacy mode could function on a per-app basis, allowing users to enable it only for specific activities such as accessing banking apps, entering passwords, or reading confidential messages in public spaces. When activated, the screen should remain clear to someone looking straight at it while appearing obscured from side angles. Some leaks also indicate the option to shield only selected portions of the display, such as notifications, instead of dimming the entire screen.
The handset is also tipped to debut a native 10-bit OLED panel. Previous Ultra models have used 8-bit displays, but a 10-bit screen can reproduce over one billion colors, offering smoother gradients and improved HDR viewing. The phone may feature Samsung’s newer M14 OLED technology, which is said to deliver significantly better power efficiency compared to the panel used in the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Camera Tweaks Aim at Better Low-Light Results
While a major hardware overhaul is not anticipated, Samsung appears to be refining camera performance, particularly in low-light photography. Leaked specifications point to wider apertures on both the primary rear camera and the 5x telephoto lens. The main sensor could move to an f/1.4 aperture, while the telephoto lens may adopt an f/2.9 aperture, allowing more light to reach the sensors.
Software improvements are also expected. Updated Camera Assistant features may give users greater control over image processing, including adjustments to sharpening levels and smoother autofocus transitions during video recording. On the front, the selfie camera is rumored to switch to a wider 22mm lens, potentially improving group photos.
Faster Charging and Upgraded Performance
Charging speeds could see a meaningful boost this year. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to support 60W wired charging, surpassing Samsung’s long-standing 45W limit. If confirmed, this upgrade may significantly reduce charging times. Enhanced wireless charging speeds are also anticipated, though official figures remain undisclosed.
Under the hood, the device is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Industry sources suggest the standard version may use a 3nm manufacturing process, while a specialized “For Galaxy” edition could adopt an advanced 2nm node. Faster LPDDR5X RAM is also likely, which could help minimize camera shutter lag and improve AI-driven image processing tasks.
Battery and Design Adjustments
After several generations of retaining the same battery size, Samsung may finally introduce an increase. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is reportedly set to feature a battery ranging between 5,100mAh and 5,400mAh, an upgrade over the 5,000mAh capacity seen since the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Despite this potential boost, the device is expected to maintain a slim profile, measuring around 7.9mm in thickness.
In terms of design, the overall aesthetic is unlikely to change dramatically. The phone is expected to resemble the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with slightly more rounded corners for improved ergonomics. A more prominent camera bump could accommodate the wider lens apertures. The display size may expand marginally to approximately 6.89 inches, while bezel dimensions are expected to remain largely consistent.
India Pricing and Expected Launch Date
Samsung has yet to confirm official pricing details. For context, the Galaxy S25 Ultra launched in India at Rs 1,29,999. While some regions may see adjustments in pricing for the new lineup, it remains unclear whether India will experience a revision. Final pricing is likely to be announced during the launch event.
The Galaxy S26 series is widely expected to be unveiled at Samsung’s upcoming Unpacked event, reportedly scheduled for February 25 or 26. With teasers already circulating and multiple specifications surfacing through leaks, the formal introduction of the Galaxy S26 Ultra appears imminent.
