Pricing and Launch Offers

The iQOO 15R starts at Rs 44,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Customers seeking additional memory can opt for the 12GB RAM model priced at Rs 47,999, while the top-end configuration with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage is available for Rs 52,999.

As part of the introductory offers, buyers using select bank cards can avail discounts. HDFC Bank cardholders, for instance, can receive a price reduction of Rs 4,000, effectively bringing the starting cost down to Rs 41,999.

At a time when smartphone prices are steadily rising due to increased component costs and memory shortages, the pricing strategy of the iQOO 15R appears aggressive. On paper, the device offers specifications typically seen in higher-priced flagship smartphones.

Performance Backed by Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

At the heart of the iQOO 15R is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. Positioned as a top-tier processor, it is designed to deliver high performance across gaming, multitasking, and demanding applications. Paired with up to 12GB RAM and fast internal storage, the phone aims to cater to users who prioritize speed and responsiveness.

The device uses UFS 4.1 storage technology, which promises quicker read and write speeds. This could translate into faster app launches, smoother data transfers, and improved overall efficiency. To maintain performance during intensive usage, iQOO has included a cryogenic cooling system intended to manage heat during extended gaming sessions.

Large Battery With Fast Charging Support

Battery capacity is another highlight of the iQOO 15R. The phone packs a 7,600mAh battery, which is larger than what is typically seen in this category. It supports 100W fast charging, and the compatible charger is included in the box. This combination suggests users can expect both extended usage and quick top-ups when needed.

Despite housing a sizable battery, the handset maintains a relatively slim profile at 7.9mm thickness and weighs approximately 202 grams. For a device with such a battery capacity and large display, this weight is considered moderate.

Display and Camera Setup

The iQOO 15R features a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2750 x 1260 pixels. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, which is aimed at delivering smoother scrolling and improved visuals during gaming and video playback. High refresh rate displays are increasingly common in premium smartphones, and this inclusion strengthens the device’s appeal to performance-focused users.

On the rear, the smartphone houses a dual-camera setup. The primary sensor is a 50-megapixel unit based on the Sony LYT700V sensor, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. For selfies and video calls, the phone offers a 32-megapixel front camera.

The iQOO 15R is available in two finishes: Dark Knight, a classic black shade, and Triumph Silver, which carries a lighter blue tone.

Durability and Additional Features

In terms of durability, the device carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering protection against dust and water exposure. This level of ingress protection adds to its all-rounder positioning in the premium mid-range segment.

With a combination of a flagship processor, high-capacity battery, fast charging, advanced storage, and a high-refresh-rate AMOLED display, the iQOO 15R enters the Indian smartphone market as a feature-rich contender. A detailed review of its real-world performance and camera capabilities is expected in the coming days.
