Vivo has unveiled two models under the V70 lineup in India — the V70 and the V70 Elite. Positioned in the competitive midrange smartphone segment, both devices highlight camera performance as their key selling point, backed by Zeiss-branded optics and refined build quality. The launch comes a few months after the company introduced the V60 series last year.

Design and Build Quality

The V70 and V70 Elite share the same exterior design. Vivo has replaced the previous vertical pill-shaped camera layout seen on the V60 with a more squared camera module at the rear. The new module features a metallic finish and clearly visible Zeiss branding, along with the company’s Aura Light system integrated within the housing.

Both devices feature a flat aerospace-grade aluminium frame paired with a matte glass back panel. The smartphones measure under 7.6mm in thickness, maintaining a slim profile. Additionally, Vivo has included IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering resistance against dust and water exposure.

Camera Capabilities

Photography remains central to the V70 series. Both smartphones are equipped with a triple rear camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. On the front, users get a 50-megapixel selfie camera.

All camera units carry Zeiss branding, reinforcing Vivo’s collaboration with the optics manufacturer. The company states that the devices support video recording up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. The camera app also includes AI-powered filters designed to enhance image output directly during capture.

Display and Features

The V70 series features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Vivo claims the phones offer some of the narrowest bezels in their category, measuring approximately 0.125cm. Peak brightness is rated at 5,000 nits, aimed at improving visibility under direct sunlight.

For security, both devices include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, providing quicker and more accurate unlocking compared to traditional optical scanners.

Performance and Hardware Differences

While the design and camera hardware remain identical, the two models differ in processing power. The V70 Elite is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, targeting users who require higher performance for gaming and multitasking. The standard V70 runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, positioned for balanced everyday performance.

Both smartphones come equipped with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The Elite variant also includes an X-axis linear motor designed to improve haptic feedback, particularly during gaming sessions.

Battery and Software Support

Battery capacity is consistent across both models, with a 6,500mAh unit supporting 90W fast charging. Vivo confirms that the compatible charger will be included in the retail box.

On the software front, the V70 lineup ships with Android 16-based OriginOS 6. The company has committed to four years of operating system upgrades and six years of security updates, aiming to offer extended device longevity.
