Automobile – Honda ZR-V Hybrid SUV Set for Limited India Arrival
Automobile – Honda Cars India has officially introduced the ZR-V for the domestic market alongside the updated City sedan lineup, expanding its premium vehicle portfolio in the country. The new SUV will arrive in India as a completely built unit import and is expected to be available in limited quantities. While the company has not yet disclosed the official price or launch timeline, bookings for interested customers have already started ahead of deliveries scheduled for July 2026.

The upcoming model will enter the premium SUV segment and is expected to challenge rivals such as the Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian in the Indian market. Honda appears to be targeting buyers looking for a hybrid-powered family SUV with modern features and a refined driving experience.
Exterior Styling Focuses on Sleek Design
Unlike many SUVs in its category that follow a boxy styling approach, the Honda ZR-V adopts a more rounded and aerodynamic design language. The front section receives slim LED headlamps integrated with distinctive L-shaped daytime running lights, giving the SUV a sharp and modern appearance.
The front grille carries a vertical-slat pattern finished in black, while the bumper includes functional air vents and a dark lower treatment that adds to the sporty character. From the side profile, the SUV stands out with sculpted wheel arches and 18-inch alloy wheels designed to complement its urban-focused styling.
At the rear, the SUV continues the sharp design theme with sleek taillights and a black-finished bumper. Twin exhaust outlets with silver detailing further enhance the premium appearance. Additional design elements include a roof-mounted spoiler and rear wiper for practicality. Dimensionally, the ZR-V measures 4,576 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,621 mm in height.
Cabin Features Aim at Comfort and Technology
Inside the cabin, Honda has given the ZR-V a clean and minimalistic layout centered around technology and passenger comfort. The dashboard features a dual-screen setup comprising a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument display.
The infotainment unit supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, allowing smartphone integration without cables. Other premium equipment includes dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system designed to improve the in-car entertainment experience.
The seats are wrapped in leatherette upholstery, while both front and rear passengers get center armrests for added convenience. Honda has also equipped the SUV with an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and a 4-way powered seat for the front passenger.
Ambient lighting, a powered tailgate, and multiple storage spaces inside the cabin further enhance daily usability. The center console uses a button-based gear selector layout paired with an electronic parking brake, creating a cleaner and more spacious look between the front seats.
Safety Package Includes Advanced Driver Assistance
Honda has equipped the ZR-V with several modern safety technologies aimed at improving passenger protection and driver awareness. The SUV comes with eight airbags as standard along with a 360-degree camera system to assist during parking and low-speed maneuvering.
The SUV also features a tire pressure monitoring system and Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These driver-assistance technologies are expected to include functions such as lane support, adaptive cruise control, and collision mitigation features, depending on the final India-spec configuration.
Strong Hybrid Powertrain Targets Efficiency
Under the hood, the India-bound Honda ZR-V will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine combined with a dual-motor strong hybrid setup. The system produces a combined output of 184 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque.
Power is delivered to the front wheels through an e-CVT automatic transmission. Honda claims the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in around eight seconds, while the electronically restricted top speed stands at 172 kmph.
Fuel efficiency remains one of the key highlights of the hybrid SUV, with the company claiming a mileage figure of 22.79 kmpl. The introduction of the ZR-V also reflects Honda’s growing focus on hybrid mobility solutions for the Indian passenger vehicle market.
