Crossover SUV – Suzuki Introduces Sportier Fronx Edition in Malaysia Market
Crossover SUV – Suzuki has expanded its Fronx range in Malaysia with the introduction of a new Sport Edition, offering buyers a more dynamic appearance while retaining the same powertrain found in the standard hybrid model. Positioned above the existing Fronx Hybrid variant, the newly launched version carries a price tag of RM130,888, which converts to approximately Rs 30.7 lakh. The regular Fronx Hybrid continues to be available in the country at RM118,888.

Enhanced Exterior Design
The latest Sport Edition focuses primarily on visual enhancements aimed at giving the crossover a more aggressive and modern character. Suzuki has fitted the vehicle with a dedicated body package that includes a redesigned front lip extension, side skirts, a rear diffuser, and an integrated spoiler mounted on the tailgate.
These additions contribute to a sharper overall profile and help distinguish the Sport Edition from other variants in the lineup. The styling upgrades are intended to appeal to customers looking for a more expressive and youthful design without compromising everyday practicality.
Exclusive Styling Elements
Beyond the body kit, Suzuki has introduced several unique details to set this version apart. The front grille features a black finish, while the traditional Suzuki emblem has been replaced with a darker treatment. Special Fronx Sport graphics along the sides further reinforce its distinct identity.
Together, these cosmetic changes create a stronger road presence and provide the crossover with a sport-inspired appearance that is noticeably different from the standard model.
Larger Wheels Add Visual Appeal
One of the notable upgrades available on the Sport Edition is a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels paired with 215/50 R17 Continental tyres. By comparison, the regular Fronx is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels.
The larger wheel setup enhances the vehicle’s stance and contributes to its sportier look. However, Suzuki has not introduced any modifications to the suspension system or braking components, meaning the driving characteristics remain largely unchanged.
Familiar Cabin With Added Technology
Inside, the Sport Edition retains the same overall cabin layout and equipment found in the Fronx sold in India and other markets. Features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, paddle shifters, wireless smartphone charging, a 9-inch infotainment display, wireless connectivity support through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 360-degree camera system.
The main interior enhancement comes in the form of front and rear 4K dashboard cameras, which are provided as standard equipment. This addition improves onboard recording capability and serves as the most significant cabin upgrade over the regular version.
Mild-Hybrid Powertrain Continues
Under the bonnet, the Sport Edition continues to use Suzuki’s familiar 1.5-litre K15C naturally aspirated petrol engine combined with a mild-hybrid system. The powertrain produces 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of peak torque.
Power is delivered through a six-speed automatic transmission, offering the same performance figures as the standard hybrid model currently available in the market.
No Mechanical Changes
While the exterior receives several visual enhancements, the mechanical package remains untouched. The crossover continues to operate with a front-wheel-drive configuration and shares its core engineering with the regular Fronx.
As a result, buyers can expect the same driving experience while benefiting from a more distinctive design. The Sport Edition is likely to attract customers who value sporty styling and additional visual appeal without requiring changes to performance or efficiency.
