FoldablePhone – Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable smartphone, the Mix Fold 5, has surfaced in fresh leaks that reveal several expected hardware details and a possible price increase ahead of its anticipated debut later this year. Larger Display With Improved Folding Design

According to information shared by a well-known tipster, Xiaomi is currently testing a prototype featuring a foldable screen measuring between 7.5 and 7.6 inches. The device is reportedly being developed with advanced crease-reduction technology aimed at making the display fold line less visible during daily use.

The upcoming handset is also expected to feature a cleaner and more refined design language. Sources indicate that Xiaomi is focusing on creating a slimmer and more compact form factor while maintaining the large-screen experience that foldable phone users prefer.

Camera System Could Receive Significant Boost

One of the most notable details emerging from the leak is the possibility of a 200-megapixel rear camera. If the information proves accurate, it would represent a substantial upgrade in imaging capabilities compared to previous generations.

The enhanced camera hardware could help Xiaomi strengthen its position in the premium foldable smartphone segment, where photography performance continues to play a key role in consumer purchasing decisions. While additional camera specifications remain unknown, expectations are growing that the company will introduce improvements across both hardware and image processing.

Bigger Battery and Wireless Charging Expected

Battery life appears to be another area receiving attention in the Mix Fold 5. Reports suggest the foldable device may include a battery rated at 6,000mAh or higher, potentially offering longer usage between charges.

Wireless charging support is also expected to return, providing users with added convenience. In addition, the smartphone may feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and improved protection against water exposure through a higher water-resistance rating than its predecessor.

New Chipset May Power the Foldable

The leaked details further indicate that Xiaomi could equip the Mix Fold 5 with its next-generation Xring O3 processor. While official performance figures are not yet available, the chipset is expected to deliver improvements in speed, power efficiency, and overall system performance.

A new processor would help the device handle demanding multitasking workloads, gaming, and productivity-focused applications that are commonly associated with large-screen foldable smartphones.

Possible Price Increase for the New Model

Pricing information included in the leak suggests the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 could launch at approximately CNY 10,000, translating to around Rs. 1.41 lakh. If accurate, this would represent a noticeable increase compared with the Mix Fold 4, which debuted at CNY 8,999 for its base configuration featuring 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.

Earlier reports have also suggested that the device could carry a price close to $1,399 in certain markets, although Xiaomi has not confirmed any official pricing plans.

Launch Timeline Remains Unofficial

While Xiaomi has yet to announce a launch date, previous industry reports have pointed to an unveiling in China during August. More information regarding specifications, availability, and regional launches is expected closer to the official announcement.

The Mix Fold 5 is likely to enter a highly competitive foldable smartphone market, where manufacturers continue to push advancements in design, battery life, and camera technology.

Looking Back at the Mix Fold 4
